Ancillary Legal now offers International Depositions!

Ancillary Legal is excited to now offer international depositions. This new service will compliment Ancillary’s wide variety of international legal support. It will combine Ancillary’s knowledge of foreign laws with an established team of experienced court reporters and bilingual paralegals.

Obtaining evidence in a foreign country, whether by compulsion of testimony or gathering of documents can be time consuming and difficult. Let Ancillary take care of:

-Service of any required notice
-Coordinating the date, time, and location of the deposition
-Providing an interpreter if needed
-Complying with international and forum court laws
-Providing an accurate and complete transcript.

There are several things to be aware of, and one of the most important ones is the deponent’s oath. Oaths are taken very seriously internationally and local laws should be adhered to. Ancillary can determine the proper course of swearing a deponent in so that you know your testimony will be admissible in your action. One more thing to be aware of is the Convention of 18 March 1970 on the Taking of Evidence Abroad in Civil or Commercial Matters. If the country in which a deponent is located in is a party to that Convention, then its rules must be followed. Ancillary can navigate these diplomatic waters for you.
